The prosecution decided to close the case against Tziyona Amar (68), director of a private daycare in Moshav Nehora, who was suspected of physical and emotional abuse of toddlers. The decision came about a year and a half after her arrest, in light of a Supreme Court ruling distinguishing between 'functional violence' in the context of childcare and 'violence for its own sake.' The parents, who equipped their children with recording devices and documented Amar cursing and behaving aggressively, are furious over the decision. The recordings include harsh curses, and in one video Amar was seen throwing a child onto a bed. The police stated that Amar took responsibility for some of her actions. The prosecution explained that the evidentiary basis is insufficient to file an indictment under the ruling.
