A couple from Ashdod was arrested on suspicion of defrauding pharmaceutical companies of hundreds of thousands of shekels by ordering aesthetic products with uncovered checks.

The Southern District Fraud Unit, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, arrested today (Sunday) a couple from Ashdod on suspicion of defrauding pharmaceutical companies to the tune of hundreds of thousands of shekels. According to the suspicion, the woman falsely represented herself as the owner of several aesthetic clinics in the south, signed a cooperation agreement with a doctor, and used it to order large quantities of products. After placing the order, the couple directed the couriers to a different address, where the husband received the packages and handed over uncovered checks. The investigation was launched following a report from the Ministry of Health and complaints from the pharmaceutical companies. This morning, police raided their home and seized boxes of aesthetic materials, invoices, and empty packaging. The couple was arrested and taken in for questioning.
