Chairman of "The Haredi Public" party: "A vote for United Torah Judaism and Shas - a vote for the trash"
Moti Leiter, chairman of the 'Haredi Public' party, attacked Shas and United Torah Judaism at an election conference, calling on the public to vote for his party as an alternative. He claimed growing support and internal polls showing strength of about two seats in the Haredi sector.
Ten days before the elections, the 'Haredi Public' party led by Moti Leiter held its main election conference at Binyanei Ha'uma in Jerusalem, attended by thousands. Leiter harshly attacked Shas and United Torah Judaism, accusing them of silence in the face of violence against Haredi soldiers and support for 'thuggish activists'. He claimed an internal poll shows at least 11% support in the Haredi sector, equivalent to two seats, and that momentum is growing. Leiter called on the religious and traditional public to vote for him, emphasizing that his party offers a real alternative including integration of Haredim into the IDF and core curriculum studies. The article does not include a response from Shas or United Torah Judaism.
