Call against voting by Israelis abroad: "Those who receive missiles are us"

Political commentator Tamir Morag called on the next Knesset to revoke the voting rights of Israelis who have lived abroad for many years, arguing that those who live in Israel and bear the security consequences should decide its future. Morag clarified that Israelis abroad on state missions or for studies should be exempted.

Channel 14 political commentator Tamir Morag called on the next Knesset to revoke the voting rights of Israelis who have lived abroad for many years, regardless of their political stance. Morag said that those who live in Israel and bear the security consequences should decide its future. According to him, his position does not stem from political considerations, and he has friends from the Israeli community in Florida who came to vote for the right, alongside relatives who came from London to vote for parties on the other side of the political map. Morag explained that Israel is not a normal country, and that voting there is different from voting in Belgium or Sweden. He said that those living abroad are fine, but when they come to vote, those who receive missiles on their heads or a reserve duty order in the mail are the residents of Israel. Morag called on parties from both sides of the political map to unite around changing the law, but asked to exempt from the proposal Israelis abroad for a limited period, including state emissaries and students.
