Global ChallahFest, a seven-city international event created by Foodish (the culinary arm of ANU – Museum of the Jewish People), puts the iconic braided challah bread at center stage. The festival kicks off in New York City on November 6, then moves to Chicago, Washington, Boston, and Atlanta before crossing to London and concluding in Tel Aviv on November 29. Events include culinary workshops, a photography exhibition, community gatherings, and challah creation. This is the second year of ChallahFest but the first time it expands beyond Israel. The lineup features cookbook author and television personality Jake Cohen, award-winning cookbook author Joan Nathan, and chef and restaurateur Einat Admony. Merav Oren, founder of Foodish, said the goal is to give young people the freedom to reinterpret traditions. The festival concludes at ANU with a photography exhibition by Sivan Roshianu and chef Alexander Lachnish, and exclusive challah interpretations from local bakeries.
