Almog Cohen revealed information about an IAF personnel - and refused the censor's request to remove it
Deputy Minister Almog Cohen (Likud) refused the request of the chief censor to remove a tweet in which information about an IAF personnel was allegedly exposed. Cohen claimed the information had been published previously. His attorney stated that no offense was committed and that the remarks were made as an expression of opinion.
Deputy Minister Almog Cohen (Likud) refused the request of the chief censor, Brig. Gen. Asher Kula, to remove a tweet he posted on X in which information concerning an IAF personnel was allegedly exposed. The censor spoke with Cohen and asked for the tweet's removal, but Cohen argued that the information had already been published earlier in another public post on the network, and therefore it was not a first publication. The controversy began after Cohen responded harshly to a monologue on Channel 12 News regarding the voting patterns of residents of a neighborhood in Ofakim, and in his response he allegedly revealed a family connection related to the IAF personnel. Cohen's attorney stated that no offense was committed, and that the remarks were made without revealing the identity of the IAF personnel, in the course of his duties and as an expression of opinion. According to him, the attempt to intimidate the deputy minister will not succeed.
