Agriculture follows up on challenges facing agricultural nurseries in Gaza and discusses support solutions
The General Administration for Agricultural Development in Gaza conducted a field tour of agricultural nurseries in the Central Governorate to assess work conditions and identify challenges facing their owners, most notably war damage, rising production input prices, and shortages of assets and seeds, while exploring support and practical solutions to ensure the continuity of the production process.
The General Administration for Agricultural Development, in cooperation with the Central Governorate Agriculture Directorate, conducted a field tour that included a number of agricultural nurseries in the Central Governorate of the Gaza Strip. The tour aimed to assess the work conditions in these nurseries, monitor the production process, and identify the main challenges facing their owners. The visiting team focused on the needs of nursery owners and the obstacles limiting their ability to continue work, foremost among them the damage caused by the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, along with rising production input prices, shortages of necessary assets and seeds, and the resulting difficulties affecting the continuity of the production process. The team emphasized the importance of agricultural nurseries as a fundamental pillar in supporting and sustaining agricultural production, and stressed the need to provide necessary support and develop practical solutions to overcome challenges and ensure their continued operation. The tour is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to enhance field communication with the agricultural sector and directly assess its needs at various production stages, thereby supporting farmers' resilience, promoting early agricultural recovery, and maintaining production continuity in the Gaza Strip.
