After she was photographed with a Likud ballot: the punishment received by singer Maya Dadon

Singer Maya Dadon, an IDF soldier, was tried in a military court after being photographed at a polling station and revealing that she voted for Likud. Her commanders settled for a reprimand, after she claimed she was unaware of the prohibition on posting political content.

Singer Maya Dadon, an IDF soldier, was tried yesterday (Sunday) in a military court after being photographed at a polling station and inadvertently revealing that she voted for Likud. According to sources familiar with the details, her commanders settled for a reprimand only. Dadon argued during the trial that she did not know that IDF soldiers are prohibited from posting political content. The IDF Spokesperson stated that the soldier was tried according to orders and received disciplinary action accordingly, emphasizing that the IDF is a state and apolitical army. On the day of the elections for the 26th Knesset, Dadon posted a photo from behind the voting booth curtain holding a ballot envelope from which a Likud ballot protruded. She deleted the photo shortly after, but a corrected photo she uploaded was also removed later.
