In the apology tweet, Breslavsky revealed his motive: the feeling of rejection he experienced during his military service when he was not accepted into a combat unit. He described how he and his friends were rejected by the army and assigned as truck drivers or cooks, while Shalev was accepted into an elite unit. Breslavsky, who was kidnapped from the Nova party by Islamic Jihad and released after 738 days, wrote: "I will not let cheap politics take over my life and blacken people." Shalev, founder of the "Ktef el Ktef" movement, joined the "Yachad" party led by Bennett and Lapid last April.
