"A Test for Civilization": New Film Reveals the Pager Operation in Lebanon

A new documentary titled "Paging Hezbollah," directed by Justin Polk, premieres in the US on October 30, exposing the long-term infiltration of Hezbollah's supply chain that led to the explosion of thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies across Lebanon and Syria in September 2024. The film features interviews with Prime Minister Netanyahu, former Mossad chief David Barnea, General Petraeus, and testimonies from October 7 survivors.

A new documentary titled "Paging Hezbollah," directed by Justin Polk, is set to premiere in the United States on October 30. The film reveals the prolonged infiltration operation into Hezbollah's supply chain, which lasted about 15 years and became more urgent after the October 7, 2023 attack. The 93-minute film combines archival footage, news reports, staged reconstructions, and interviews with senior Israeli and US government and security officials. Interviewees include Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Mossad chief David Barnea, American General David Petraeus, and former intelligence officer Sarit Zahavi. Also featured are testimonies from survivors of the October 7 attack and the sister of one of the victims killed by a rocket strike in Majdal Shams. The central event covered in the film occurred on September 17, 2024, when thousands of Hezbollah operatives' communication devices and pagers exploded simultaneously across Lebanon and parts of Syria, after receiving a message that appeared to be from the organization's leadership. A second wave of explosions followed the next day. The devices were part of a shipment ordered from a company in Taiwan, into which a small amount of explosives had been inserted. Dozens of Hezbollah operatives were killed and thousands wounded in the events, including Iran's ambassador to Lebanon.
