The value of the Iranian currency has reached a new low of 2.5 million rials to the dollar. Motorcycle units, Revolutionary Guards, police forces, and Basij have been deployed in central squares. The forces have set up checkpoints, conducted searches, and checked mobile devices. Meanwhile, covert intimidation measures are being taken: security personnel are photographing shops and pressuring prisoners to warn their families. Basij members have been placed on high alert.
