7 days and it's over: Israel issued a dramatic ultimatum to the Netherlands

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar informed the Dutch embassy that Dutch diplomats working from Ramallah will lose their diplomatic privileges within 7 days, in response to the Dutch ban on importing products from the settlements. Sa'ar threatened that countries acting against Israel will lose their influence in the region, and addressed the rising antisemitism in the Netherlands.

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar issued a dramatic ultimatum to the Netherlands: within 7 days, Dutch diplomats operating from Ramallah will lose their diplomatic privileges in Israel. The move is a direct response to the Dutch decision to ban imports of products from the settlements. Sa'ar noted that the Netherlands can continue to represent its interests vis-à-vis the Palestinians from Palestinian Authority territory, not from Israeli territory. He recalled that last month Israel removed the Dutch representation from the International Support Center for Gaza in Kiryat Gat. Sa'ar emphasized that Israel will not ignore moves intended to harm it, and that hostile countries will lose their influence in the region. He also called for addressing the rising antisemitism in the streets of the Netherlands, which he said is fueled by the anti-Israeli policy of the Dutch government. Additionally, former US Ambassador Mike Huckabee was quoted warning that Dutch tourists could be banned for six years if found in possession of souvenirs from the Judea and Samaria area.
