30% of student reservists in Israel are considering leaving the country immediately after receiving their diploma. This was reported by National Student Union chair Sivan Koren in an interview with La-Isha magazine, published in November 2026. According to her, out of approximately 350,000 students who started their studies this year, 70,000 are reservists. A survey conducted by the student union showed that 64% of reservists experience personal and social difficulties upon returning to studies, 25% have already sought psychological help, and 70% of students are stressed due to their financial situation. Koren noted that over the past three years, reservists have received a package of academic benefits, but now they need help catching up on material. She called on the new government to immediately allocate 50 million shekels to address gaps for student reservists and to develop a national support program. Koren also mentioned the establishment of 22 psychological resilience centers, where over 100,000 students and staff have received help.
