25 dogs rescued from a kennel in the south: 'The floor was covered in feces, mold was blooming in the water bowls'
Inspectors from the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture rescued 25 dogs held in extremely harsh conditions in a moshav in the south of the country. The raid, conducted on Tuesday, September 22, together with veterinarians and MAGAV fighters, was initiated after a distress signal from the Western Negev Veterinary Service. In the first room without ventilation, inspectors found 10 small dogs: the floor was covered with a thick layer of feces, mold was blooming in the water bowls, and the animals had inflammations and injuries. In another building, larger dogs were kept in similar conditions, with pieces of raw chicken meat on the floor, and one dog had a fresh deep wound on its neck. All animals were transferred to the ministry's shelter for care and recovery. A criminal investigation has been opened against the kennel owner, who has been summoned for questioning.
