"25-30 minutes each way": CEO of Netiv Le'ir on the new Park & Ride complex

According to him, the commute is shortened by 25-30 minutes each way, and the service is free. Regev emphasized that the goal is to move users from private cars to public transportation.

Assaf Regev, CEO of Netiv Le'ir, was interviewed on 103FM and spoke about the new Park & Ride complex that opened in Rishon LeZion. The complex includes 3,500 parking spaces, of which about 350 are for electric vehicles with charging stations. From the parking lot, four free bus lines depart to central Gush Dan, including HaMasger Street, Yigal Alon, HaKirya, and Azrieli Center. Regev noted that on the first day, occupancy was nearly full, and that the commute is shortened by 25-30 minutes each way. He added that there are 70 buses in total, with a bus departing every five minutes; if this frequency is not met, the company receives fines from the state. Regev emphasized that the goal is to move users from private cars to public transportation, and that in Shfayim, over ten thousand passengers are transported daily. He also addressed investment in transportation infrastructure, stating that the state is investing billions of shekels in light rail lines and the metro project, and in the meantime has created an interim solution that works.
