Yinon Magel reveals: How the interview with Netanyahu went behind the scenes

Yinon Magel, host of 'The Patriots', reveals in an interview with Yehuda Shlezinger the behind-the-scenes of his interview with Prime Minister Netanyahu. Magel recounts a brief phone call before the broadcast, Netanyahu's request to focus on security and diplomatic issues, and the moment when Netanyahu 'rose ten stories high' during a discussion on Jabotinsky and Herzl.

Yinon Magel, host of 'The Patriots' on Channel 14, revealed in an interview with Yehuda Shlezinger on the program 'Sheva' the behind-the-scenes of the interview he conducted with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Magel said he spoke with Netanyahu on the phone about a minute before the broadcast, and that no prior coordination of questions took place. However, Netanyahu asked to focus on security and diplomatic issues rather than just politics. Magel emphasized that he did not receive specific instructions regarding the questions. The surprising moment for him was a philosophical discussion raised by Avishai Ben Haim about Netanyahu's attitude toward Ze'ev Jabotinsky and Benjamin Ze'ev Herzl. Magel described how Netanyahu 'rose ten stories high' and demonstrated extensive knowledge of the history of Zionism, in his words at the level of a professor. Magel concluded that this moment made the interview something special, beyond the political headlines.
