Yair Golan attacked Judaism, sparked an uproar – and deleted the tweet
Yair Golan, chairman of the Democrats party, deleted a tweet on X in which he attacked "religious coercion" and promised to send Deri to the opposition, following furious responses. MK Uriel Buso of Shas responded sarcastically, against the backdrop of Golan's previous statement against the assassination of Khamenei.
Yair Golan, chairman of the Democrats party, deleted a tweet he posted last night from his X account, in which he attacked "religious coercion" and declared that his party would put an end to it. The tweet, which included the sentence "We will end religious coercion, we will send Deri to the opposition," sparked furious responses among users and led to its removal. In response, MK Uriel Buso of Shas jabbed: "Not before you finish crying over the assassination of Khamenei," referring to an earlier statement by Golan that the assassination of Khamenei was a mistake that does not serve Israel's interests. The incident takes place against the backdrop of the election campaign for the 26th Knesset, expected in about two weeks.
