Without Calling It by Name / Raanan Shaked
Raanan Shaked questions Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks, in which he allegedly forgot the heroism of Israelis on October 7, and addresses a broader phenomenon of "borderline" individuals in the right-wing camp, such as Itamar Fleishman, Galit Distel-Atbaryan, and Eliran Siman Tov, who he says are disconnected from the post-traumatic Israeli reality.
Raanan Shaked questions Benjamin Netanyahu's statements, in which he said, "I have never encountered civilian heroism like that shown by Israelis who rushed to save the Flydubai plane." Shaked notes that Netanyahu ignored the heroism of many Israelis on October 7, including Oz Davidian, Rami Davidian, Israel Ziv, Noam Tibon, and Yair Golan, who saved hundreds of young people, and the late Aner Shapira, who threw grenades back out. Shaked expands on a phenomenon he says is growing as elections approach: "borderline" individuals in the right-wing camp, such as Itamar Fleishman, Galit Distel-Atbaryan, and Eliran Siman Tov, who he claims are disconnected from the post-traumatic Israeli reality. He notes that Fleishman expressed regret for his words but continued the same behavior, and Distel-Atbaryan apologized for her part in incitement but returned to generating hatred. Shaked calls for balanced people, with open eyes and heart, and for sanity at this time.
