What's wrong with the Russian elections – impressive statistics on falsifications

Independent experts have presented statistics proving large-scale falsifications in the Russian State Duma elections. According to their calculations, the actual voter turnout was less than 40%, and the result for United Russia was about 35%, which diverges from the official data of the Central Election Commission. Analysts also identified the artificial boosting of A Just Russia into parliament.

Independent experts and electoral analysts have presented statistics proving large-scale falsifications in the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. According to CEC reports, turnout was 59.32%, and United Russia received 57.83% of the vote, theoretically giving the party 347 seats. However, Data Insight co-founder Boris Ovchinnikov, after analyzing the first tens of thousands of protocols, estimated the actual turnout at less than 40%. According to his calculations, at almost 70% of polling stations outside Moscow, indicators were artificially inflated, and the share of falsified votes in favor of the ruling party could reach 55%. Analyst Pyotr Zhizhin, using the Shpilkin method, estimated the real result of United Russia at about 35%. Experts state that the regime has completely exhausted its administrative resource, turning regions like Siberia into closed electoral sultanates. Analyst Stanislav Andreichuk drew attention to the artificial boosting of A Just Russia into parliament, which crossed the 5% barrier after the emergency addition of tens of thousands of votes. Holding elections in the occupied Ukrainian territories provoked a harsh reaction from the international community. ISW analysts note the deep militarization of the new parliament: United Russia received 78% of the seats, and the deputy corps included 49 participants in the war against Ukraine.
