Watch: Channel 12 fell into the trap – and interviewed an impostor from the Fly Dubai flight

A man who impersonated a passenger on a flight from Dubai went live on Channel 12 and told a fabricated story about what was happening on the plane, while incorporating hints of the prank – but the interview continued until the impostor himself hung up.

Embarrassment on live broadcast: Amid the incident of the plane that took off from Dubai, a man who impersonated one of the flight's passengers managed to go live on Channel 12 – and prank the presenters for long minutes, without the deception being identified in real time. Presenter Tamir Steinmann introduced the interviewee as someone who was on the plane. The impostor, who introduced himself as "Yehoshaft," said the plane began "going up and down," and claimed that at some point the cockpit opened and Israelis entered. He incorporated obvious hints of the prank, including mentioning Michal Pa'ilan and calling his brother "Nevo, which is short for Nebuchadnezzar." The interview ended only when the impostor himself hung up. Media personality Yossi Davidov revealed that the impostor is a member of a small WhatsApp group, and that he contacted Channel 12's researchers after Davidov warned the CEO of Channel 14 to thoroughly check any inquiry on the matter.
