UTJ on coalition talks with the Change Bloc: "Eisenkot? Who will go with him" | Watch
MK Meir Porush (United Torah Judaism) told Israel Hayom that his party will not join a government headed by Gadi Eisenkot, even in exchange for a draft exemption law. Party chairman Yitzhak Goldknopf refused to respond. The Haredi parties have not yet received an official approach from Netanyahu or Eisenkot.
Five days after the elections for the 26th Knesset, senior UTJ member MK Meir Porush told Israel Hayom that his party will not join a government headed by Gadi Eisenkot, even in exchange for a draft exemption law. Porush said: "Who will go with him?! He doesn't even call us, and he won't call us." Party chairman Yitzhak Goldknopf refused to answer a similar question, saying: "Right now we are discussing." UTJ received 7 seats and is the largest Haredi party in the Knesset. The Haredi parties have not yet received an official approach from Netanyahu or Eisenkot, and continue to present the draft exemption law as a threshold condition for any political arrangement.
