Florida Senator Rick Scott, who cosponsored the resolution with Nevada Senator Jacky Rosen, stated that 'there is no moral gray area here; Hamas is evil' and that the US 'has a duty to secure justice' for its people. Senator Rosen said it is 'our responsibility to make sure the world never forgets the unspeakable violence carried out by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023 – the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.'
