The Ministry of Economy and Industry today (Monday) issued an urgent call to return a universal plug adapter model EUROPE TRAVEL UNIVERSAL ADAPTOR 931L, manufactured in China. An inspection conducted on behalf of the Commissioner for Standards by the Standards Institute found severe safety defects: the faulty structure may allow direct contact with electricity and cause electrocution, the product does not include grounding protection for devices requiring it, and its mechanical strength may cause it to disintegrate when removed from the socket. Additionally, the plastic from which the adapter is made is not heat-resistant and may melt or burn during use, creating a fire hazard.
