UK: Senior members of Nigel Farage's party recorded making racist and violent remarks

An ITV News investigation has uncovered recordings of senior members of the Reform UK party making racist, sexual, and violent remarks, including candidates who were elected to local government positions. The party has announced investigations and the suspension of some of those involved.

A covert investigation by British network ITV, filmed during this year's local elections, has uncovered recordings of senior members and candidates in Nigel Farage's Reform UK party making racist, sexual, and violent remarks. Among those filmed: Alan Feeney, deputy mayor of Solihull, who called Asian homeowners 'parasites'; Jamie Campbell, who discussed burying pork ribs to prevent the construction of a mosque; and a candidate who made explicit sexual comments. Another councilor said he wanted to 'eliminate' illegal immigrants, and another boasted of being 'far-right' and expressed a desire to train young people in military tactics to collect immigrants. All candidates were subsequently elected to public office. The party announced investigations and the suspension of some of those involved, claiming that screening procedures had been improved. The revelation comes at a sensitive time, as the party has dropped to second place in polls behind Labour, and amid a police investigation into donations and foreign funding.
