Turmoil in the Knesset: The first decision of the Change Bloc is closed in a week and a half

The Change Bloc has finalized a move to replace Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana immediately upon the swearing-in of the Knesset, aiming to gain control of the parliamentary agenda. The vote will be open, and the bloc may rely on the votes of the Arab parties. Liberman estimated that about a third of the outgoing coalition would support the replacement.

Barak Seri reports in Maariv that the Change Bloc has finalized a move to replace Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana immediately upon the swearing-in of the new Knesset. The move is intended to give the anti-Netanyahu camp control of the parliamentary agenda, including votes, laws, and appointments of committee chairs, even if Netanyahu continues to serve as head of a transitional government. The vote for Knesset Speaker is open, and replacing Ohana will require a majority around an agreed candidate, which may also rely on the votes of the Arab parties. Among the candidates: Hili Tropper, Matan Kahana, and Elazar Stern from the Eisenkot list; Meirav Ben Ari and Eitan Ginzburg from the Bennett-Lapid list; Efrat Rayten from the Democrats; and attorney Oded Forer from Yisrael Beiteinu. Liberman estimated that about a third of the outgoing coalition members would publicly support the replacement.
