The Turkish Ministry of Defense warned of the repercussions of settler incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, stressing that they fuel tension in the region and undermine efforts to achieve peace and stability, and called on the international community to take deterrent measures against Israeli violations. This came in statements by ministry spokesman Zeki Akturk on Thursday during the weekly press conference held in Kayseri province in central Turkey. Akturk affirmed his country's rejection of the incursions by extremist Israeli groups into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, noting that violations and provocations targeting holy sites fuel tension in the region and violate international law and international humanitarian law. He said that the occupation, which has caused the martyrdom of 74,000 Palestinians, including infants, children, and women, and deprived Palestinians of their right to live with dignity, continues its attacks and settlers' land seizures in the West Bank. He added: "We reaffirm the importance of the global conscience moving to end what is happening in Palestine, and we renew our call on the international community to take deterrent measures against Israeli attacks that violate international law and international humanitarian law."
