Trump says he can 'absolutely work with Democrats' despite election losses - report

US President Donald Trump said he can 'absolutely work with Democrats' on trade and financial issues despite Republican midterm losses, citing similarities with Bernie Sanders on trade. He dismissed impeachment concerns as baseless.

US President Donald Trump said he could 'absolutely work with Democrats' on trade and financial issues despite Republican losses in Tuesday's midterm elections, according to a phone interview with CNBC on Wednesday. Trump pointed to similarities between his trade positions and those of Bernie Sanders, and indicated he would not support removing tariffs. He did not specify which proposals he had in mind. Separately, Trump told CBS News he was 'not even a little bit' concerned about the possibility of Democrats seeking to impeach him after taking control of both the House and Senate next year, saying impeachment would 'destroy the Democrat Party.' The article relies on Trump's own statements without Democratic response.
