US President Donald Trump said Sunday that the United States will not launch a military strike against Iran today, but did not rule out future action. Trump said he has not decided whether to renew strikes or reach an agreement, and that the US is monitoring activity at Iran's nuclear sites. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed on X/Twitter that Israel faces a 'real and tangible existential danger' from Iran.
US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the United States would not launch a military strike against Iran today, but did not rule out action at a later date. Asked by a reporter whether a US attack could take place as soon as today, Trump replied: 'Would I tell you that? The answer is no. There will not be a strike today.' Earlier on Sunday, Trump told reporters he has yet to decide whether to renew strikes against Iran, saying: 'Should I finish the job - which would be very easy to do - or should I reach an agreement? That is the whole decision.' Trump added that the US is actively monitoring activity at Iran's Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site and three other sites allegedly destroyed in previous strikes, noting 'there isn't much activity going on there.' His comments came after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed on X/Twitter that Israel faces a 'real and tangible existential danger' from Iran, warning that only a small window remains for Israel and the US to act. Netanyahu also shared a video from an IDF anti-missile battery, saying: 'The IDF is prepared on both defense and in offense. I warn our enemies – you will absorb strikes out of proportion, stronger than you can even imagine.' Trump had said on Friday that Washington is weighing another military operation against Iran, suggesting the US 'may do another little Epic Fury' during a pre-midterm election rally in Florida.
