Trump prepares response to boycott of Israel - who is under threat

The Trump administration has warned European governments of possible retaliatory sanctions over restrictions related to Israeli settlements. US Deputy Attorney General Harmit Dillon stated that measures could affect even the closest allies, including the UK and France, both NATO members.

The administration of US President Donald Trump has warned European states of possible retaliatory sanctions over restrictions on goods and companies linked to Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria. This was reported by The Spectator, citing a briefing by US Deputy Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmit Dillon to European journalists. Dillon stated that restrictions on trade with settlements are connected to the BDS movement, which Washington considers a form of anti-Semitism. The trigger was decisions announced in September by the UK, France, Canada, and other countries. Dillon emphasized that states imposing such restrictions risk facing retaliatory actions. She did not specify which sanctions are being considered. Earlier, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee issued a warning to the UK. It is noted that American officials have for the first time so openly acknowledged the possibility of imposing sanctions on NATO allies over their policy regarding Israeli settlements.
