Police Scotland is examining a video in which a primary school teacher in Edinburgh, Sarah Al-Awaisi, demonstrates a hand game to children simulating the defense of the Al-Aqsa Mosque from "Zionists". The video was posted on Instagram on September 15 and was reportedly filmed in July in Indonesia. During the game, a statement is heard that "Zionists" must not be allowed to "take the mosque". The term "Zio" appearing in the video is considered an antisemitic slur. The Edinburgh City Council confirmed it is reviewing the case, and the teacher's name has been removed from the staff page of the school where she taught. In past activities, children were recorded calling for the "liberation of Al-Aqsa". The organization UK Lawyers for Israel assisted in filing the complaint.
