The Friends of Israel Ambassadors Conference opened yesterday (Tuesday), October 6, on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, in cooperation with the Israeli Foreign Ministry. Over 1,000 Christian leaders, community leaders, and influencers from 117 countries arrived at the event to express solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people on the third anniversary of the October 7 attack. Among the participants were about 200 young people aged 18 to 29 from various Christian communities. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar spoke at the opening and called on participants to fight antisemitism and raise their voices for Israel. Sa'ar announced the Foreign Ministry's preparations for the year 2030, marking 2,000 years since the baptism of Jesus, and called on Christians to come to Israel. During the event, Dr. Mike Evans, founder of the Friends of Israel organization, presented the "Hineni" award to Australian journalist Erin Molan for her support of Israel since October 7. Molan was fired from her job at Sky News Australia in December 2024 after receiving death threats. Ambassador Dan Oryan noted a significant expansion of participants this year, including from South Africa. The event is expected to be broadcast live for 24 hours on global platforms.
