The terrorist was located by Duvdevan unit fighters at a hospital in Ramallah, lying on a bed and connected to a respirator. His injury was caused by fire from a tracker who was near the site at the time of the attack. Following his capture alive, he may be the first terrorist to be executed under the law on the death penalty for terrorists recently enacted. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir demanded that the law be applied in this case, stating, "In this case, there is a mandatory punishment, and therefore we demand to activate this punishment and implement the execution of the terrorist, this law is law."
