The world is left without reserve fuel - a new price jump ahead

Russia's ban on diesel exports and strikes on oil refineries, along with the US war with Iran, have led to a record increase in diesel fuel prices in the US to $6.5 per gallon. Prices are rising daily, threatening the economy and Republican support.

The world is facing a shortage of reserve fuel, which has triggered a new price jump. In the US, diesel fuel has risen in price for the first time in history to $6.5 per gallon. Prices are rising almost every day, and according to Bloomberg, the war that Donald Trump is waging in the Middle East is to blame. In September alone, diesel rose by more than 87 cents. Fuel is now more expensive than during the 2022 fuel crisis, and the record continues to be updated. Global diesel supplies have declined due to the war between the US and Iran. Crude oil supplies from the Persian Gulf region have not yet fully recovered. Russia has also contributed by banning the export of most of its diesel. The reason is that Ukrainian drones continue to strike Russian oil refineries. The rise in diesel prices is hitting the entire economy: freight transport, agricultural machinery, electric generators, ships, trains, and home heating. Record prices could undermine support for Trump's Republican Party. The Federal Reserve raised its interest rate by a quarter of a point due to persistently high inflation. Goldman Sachs believes that diesel prices could continue to rise.
