At the Globes kibbutz growth conference, Dr. Noam Shariki, manager of the Smart Grid Technology Sector at the Israel Electric Corporation, revealed that the company is open to orders for 27 gigawatts of supply, compared to 17 gigawatts it currently provides. According to him, "the world is in an arms race to connect server farms to electricity," and the increase in demand has skyrocketed all at once, contrary to models that predicted gradual growth. Shariki noted that the challenge occurs alongside the renewable energy and energy storage revolution, as well as the load from electric vehicle charging. He emphasized that the Israel Electric Corporation is acting proactively, cooperating with entrepreneurs, and establishing fast substations, and that "the electric company will not be a barrier to integrating server farms into Israel's electricity grid."
