A series of powerful explosions shook the Aleppo area in northern Syria last night after a Syrian army weapons and ammunition warehouse exploded in the al-Eis area, south of the city. The first explosion occurred around 1:00 AM, followed by secondary explosions for hours. Footage on social media showed a large fireball and heavy smoke. According to the Syrian Defense Ministry and local emergency services, four civilians were lightly injured: one from shrapnel, two from temporary breathing difficulties, and another person injured in a car accident while trying to flee. Three families were evacuated from nearby homes, and the Aleppo-Damascus road was temporarily closed. The Defense Ministry stated that military police and engineering forces were deployed to secure the site. During the morning, another explosion was heard in the same area, which the ministry said was caused by a controlled detonation of an old mine during clearance operations. The cause of the initial explosion has not yet been determined, and the incident raises questions due to an unusual series of explosions at military storage facilities in recent weeks.
