The Population and Immigration Authority is demanding the deportation from Israel of Salma Jude, a Moroccan citizen married to Yosef Inbar, a former Magav fighter from Eilat. The couple has a shared daughter, one year and five months old, registered in the population registry as an Israeli citizen. The Authority determined that "the sincerity of the relationship was not proven" between the couple, and demanded that Jude leave Israel by October 14. The Appeals Court in Be'er Sheva ordered a temporary stay of the removal until a decision on the request for an interim order. In the appeal filed it is argued that the decision ignores the existence of the shared child, and that the interviews with Jude were not translated into the Arabic dialect she speaks. Inbar claims racist treatment at the Population Authority office in Eilat, and says: "Sometimes I regret that I did military service."
