The father shouted at his son, climbed on top of him, hit him with fists, slaps, and elbows, and kicked his ribs. The mother tried to intervene and was pushed away. The child bled from his nose and mouth and suffered bruises to his chest and face. The father admitted to some of the acts.
A serious indictment was filed against a man in his 50s from the Shfela region, for the violent assault of his 11-year-old son. According to the indictment, the incident occurred during a family dinner at the father's home, which the mother and child attended. The family dog jumped on the child and bit him; in response, the child pushed it away. The father shouted at him: "You want to be a criminal? I will make you disabled before you become a criminal," and then climbed on top of him, leaned over him, and prevented him from moving. He hit his son with fists, slaps, and elbows to his face and body, scratched him, hit him with his hat, and kicked his ribs. The mother tried to pull him away and shouted that the child's face was turning blue, but the father pushed her and continued the attack. The child bled from his nose and mouth, and suffered bruises to his chest, blood clots in his ears, and injuries to his face and eyes. The indictment also attributes to the defendant a similar incident from about five years ago, when he slapped his six-year-old son and pushed him onto stones in the yard after the child told him he was a "bad father." In his testimony, the child said that his father apologized to him several times after the incidents. During his investigation, the father admitted to slapping his son and holding him tightly, but denied hitting him with fists, claiming he sought to "put" his son in his place.
