A rare medical incident occurred today (Monday) in the city of Elad, when a toddler about one and a half years old developed a severe allergic reaction that endangered her life, after accidentally drinking milk despite a known sensitivity. United Hatzalah teams were called to Rabbi Shimon ben Shetach Street in the city. United Hatzalah medic Moti Shimoni arrived quickly, identified a life-threatening anaphylactic reaction, and pulled out an EpiPen syringe which he injected into the toddler. In documentation of the case, Shimoni stated: "We were told that she is sensitive to milk and accidentally drank milk which caused an allergic reaction that endangered her life. I injected her with an EpiPen and her condition stabilized." Following the rapid treatment, her condition stabilized and the immediate danger passed. She was evacuated by ambulance for further treatment and tests at the hospital, where she will remain under medical observation.
