The goal: to replace Netanyahu. On the way, there is disagreement | The plans in the change bloc
The change bloc agrees on a common goal to replace Netanyahu, but is divided on the means: Liberman demands a Zionist majority, Eisenkot is open to a minority government, Golan considers cooperation with Ra'am, and Bennett opposes. The first agreed step is to replace Knesset Speaker Ohana.
All parties in the change bloc have declared a common goal: to replace Benjamin Netanyahu as prime minister. However, there are significant disagreements about the path to achieving this goal. The first step on which there is broad agreement is replacing Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana immediately after the elections, a move that would allow the bloc to influence the Knesset agenda even if Netanyahu continues as a transitional prime minister. Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beiteinu) opposes forming a minority government and demands a Zionist majority of 61 MKs, and if that is not achieved, further elections. Gadi Eisenkot (Yashar) does not rule out a minority government and sees it as a solution in the absence of a decisive outcome. Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid (Together) oppose relying on the abstention of the Arab parties. Yair Golan (Democrats) is open to cooperation with Ra'am. The gaps between the approaches could make it difficult to form a government even if the bloc achieves a parliamentary majority to replace the Knesset Speaker.
