The battle for the undecided, the struggle for the Knesset - and the tough questions for Mandelblit

A week and a half before the elections: between 720,000 and a million undecided voters are expected to decide the blocs. Likud is preparing for a tie scenario by mapping weak links in the opposition. The opposition plans to take over the Knesset and pass a law against Netanyahu. A lawsuit by Bar and an interview by Gil reignite the battle over responsibility for October 7.

A week and a half before the elections, between 720,000 and a million people have not yet decided whether to vote for Likud or one of the three opposition parties: Bennett-Lapid, Eisenkot, and Lieberman. These undecided voters are expected to determine the election results. Likud is also preparing for a tie scenario, including mapping weak links in the rival lists to dismantle existing frameworks and transfer mandates to Netanyahu. On the other hand, the opposition is formulating a plan to take over the Knesset: replacing the Knesset Speaker, demanding that the mandate be given to the President of the State, and passing a law that would prevent a candidate against whom an indictment has been filed from forming a government. Meanwhile, a libel lawsuit filed by former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar against Netanyahu, and an interview by former military secretary Avi Gil, reignite the battle over responsibility for October 7. Bar and Gil claim they warned the political echelon before the attack, but the article claims these warnings do not absolve them of responsibility.
