Thailand: businessman, native of Israel, stripped of citizenship
Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has revoked the Thai citizenship of Ariel Blustein, a businessman and native of Israel. The reason is that Blustein did not disclose his Israeli and Uruguayan citizenships when obtaining a Thai passport, and also did not use the Thai passport for entering and leaving the country.
Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has signed an order revoking the Thai citizenship of Ariel Blustein, a businessman and native of Israel. According to the Bangkok Post, the grounds were that when obtaining Thai citizenship, Blustein did not disclose that he is also a citizen of Israel and Uruguay. Although Thai law allows naturalized citizens to retain other passports if the country of origin permits dual citizenship, they are required to use a Thai passport for entering and leaving Thailand. According to the newspaper, Blustein did not do so, which led to the revocation of his citizenship.
