According to reports, during the flight the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the other pilot and attempted to take control of the aircraft. Israeli passengers on the plane helped subdue and tie him up, while also working to keep the injured pilot alive, until the plane made a successful emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. Despite the passengers' heroic actions, false claims emerged on social media that Israelis had hijacked the plane or staged the entire attack. The CEO and founder of CyberWell, Tal-Or Cohen Montemayor, harshly addressed the phenomenon, calling it 'an ugly reminder of how quickly online antisemitism can distort the facts.' She warned that 'false flag' conspiracy theories turn victims into attackers and could perpetuate violence against Jews. The organization monitors online discourse in an effort to curb the spread of lies and incitement.
