Minister Orit Strock published a harsh attack today (Thursday) against the Ra'am party and party chairman Mansour Abbas, against the backdrop of the Ra'amgate affair. Strock claimed that Ra'am is the political arm of the Islamic Movement in Israel and that it is working to change the Jewish character of the state through political power, which she called 'civilian jihad'. She called for an investigation into the suspicions of election bribery and possible involvement of Qatar and Turkey, and demanded that Ra'am be prevented from joining the coalition and that steps be taken to disqualify it from running for the Knesset. Strock presented Ra'am as a sister movement of Hamas, while citing Abbas's statements in Arabic and shared photos with senior Hamas official Razi Hamad. At the end of her remarks, she called on the Zionist parties to resolve disputes through democratic means, while opposing coalition cooperation with Ra'am.
