American singer Gloria Gaynor, 83, will perform one show in Israel on April 13, 2027, at the Tel Aviv Culture Hall. This was announced this morning (Wednesday) by the show's producers. Gaynor will be accompanied on stage by a ten-piece band. Ticket prices for the show will range from 329 to 859 shekels. This is Gaynor's second performance at the Culture Hall, after she performed at the same venue in summer 2015. Gaynor's career spans five decades: she began in 1974 with a disco version of the song "Never Can Say Goodbye," and in 1978 released the song "I Will Survive." The song reached number one on the charts in 1979 and earned Gaynor her first Grammy Award, in the category of Best Disco Recording (a category awarded only once). Throughout her career, Gaynor has won additional awards, including the prestigious Kennedy Center Honor she received in 2025. In 2020, she won her second Grammy Award for the gospel album "Testimony," which she self-financed. She has also been awarded the Martin Luther King Jr. Award by then-Israeli Consul in New York, Ido Aharoni. Gaynor, who has managed her career independently since her divorce in 2005, continues to perform on international tours and festivals. Her well-known repertoire includes hits such as "I Am What I Am," "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," and "Reach Out I'll Be There."
