A farewell ceremony was held this morning (Wednesday) at Ben Gurion Airport for Czech diplomat Klára Schneiderová, who was killed in a traffic accident in the Mahane Yehuda market in Jerusalem on October 29. Schneiderová, 30, was the head of the Jerusalem branch of the Czech Embassy. Schneiderová's father served as the Czech ambassador to Israel in the late 1990s, and she grew up in Israel as a child and fell in love with the country. The day before the accident, she was presented at a festive event marking Czech National Day at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, where she spoke about the circle closing. The Czech Embassy expressed "deep sorrow" over the loss.
