Yael Gevizon Rom, a student at the Kadoorie agricultural youth village who immigrated from the Netherlands, was killed in a fatal car accident in the Beit She'an Valley along with 18-year-old Zohar Tamir. Three others were injured. Her mother, who immigrated to Israel after her, is left without her only daughter.
Yael Gevizon Rom, a student at the 'Adam and Adama Tavor' agricultural youth village in Kadoorie, was killed on Saturday night in a fatal car accident near Kibbutz Tirat Zvi in the Beit She'an Valley. Alongside her, Zohar Tamir, 18, from Tirat Zvi and a graduate of the same program, was killed, and three other people were injured. Yael came alone from the Netherlands to study agriculture in Israel, and her mother followed her and is now left without her only daughter. The two were laid to rest on Sunday. One of the surviving passengers said that Tamir tried to turn the steering wheel to avoid a head-on collision, and the vehicle overturned. The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident. Members of the program are planning a 'consolation olive harvest' at the farm where Yael worked.
