On Wednesday, settlers established a new outpost on Palestinian lands located between the villages of Kafr ad-Dik and Bruqin, west of Salfit, in the northern West Bank. Local sources reported that the settlers began establishing the outpost on Palestinian land with the aim of controlling more agricultural land and expanding settlement in the vicinity of the two villages, coinciding with the repeated establishment of outposts in the area in recent times. This step comes amid an ongoing escalation of settlement activity in the West Bank, alongside measures taken by the occupation government to expand settlements and legalize outposts established without official approval. According to the Israeli organization Peace Now, the government of Benjamin Netanyahu approved measures this year to establish new settlements and convert outposts into recognized settlements, noting that the number of new settlements approved by the current government reached 104 settlements, including 38 entirely new settlements and 50 outposts being converted into independent settlements.
