Senior lawyer stunned by Mandelblit's testimony: "The picture emerging is nothing less than shocking"

Attorney Zion Amir sharply criticizes the conduct of the law enforcement system following Mandelblit's testimony, arguing that the findings of the cross-examination may justify dismissing the trial under the doctrine of defense from justice.

Senior attorney Zion Amir sharply criticizes the conduct of the law enforcement system, following the fourth day of Avichai Mandelblit's testimony in the Netanyahu trial. According to Amir, the findings raised by attorney Amit Hadad, the prime minister's defense counsel, may justify dismissing the entire trial under the doctrine of defense from justice. Amir also refers to testimony about the transfer of an article for Mandelblit's review before its publication in another case, calling it "unfathomable." He emphasizes that Section 149(10) of the Criminal Procedure Law allows the court to dismiss an indictment when the criminal process contradicts principles of justice and fairness. Additionally, Amir argues that transferring information from the case file to journalists may constitute a criminal offense, and criticizes the lack of investigations into leaks from the law enforcement system. According to him, the accumulation of flaws pointed out by the defense may lead to the dismissal of the proceedings.
