Selective enforcement? The anger of Yaakov Asher following the Election Committee's decision

Chairman of United Torah Judaism, MK Yaakov Asher, attacked the Attorney General and Gil Limon over the election bribery investigation, alleging selective enforcement against the Haredi public. Asher cited the arrest of the deserter groom as a comparison.

Chairman of United Torah Judaism, MK Yaakov Asher, attacked today (Wednesday) the Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and her deputy Gil Limon, over the handling of suspicions of election bribery by foreign entities. According to him, if the suspicions had concerned the Haredi public, arrests, investigations and raids would have already been approved. Asher mentioned the arrest of the deserter groom Yaari Lieberman in the midst of the sheva brachot days, as a comparison to his claim of selective enforcement. The investigation Asher referred to was opened after the Chairman of the Election Committee, Judge Noam Solberg, instructed the Shin Bet chief to investigate suspicions of foreign funding and election bribery. In the Shin Bet update, it was written about the flow of funds from foreign countries on a scale exceeding thousands of involved parties. Asher's remarks were made on the day the Election Committee plenum approved the results of the elections to the 26th Knesset, by a majority of 15 supporters against 14 abstentions and two opponents.
