Saudi source: Israeli aid against the Houthis will not help normalization

A senior Saudi official tells Kan News that Israeli assistance in the fight against the Houthis will not advance normalization. According to him, the path to an agreement goes through resolving the Palestinian issue, not through military aid. A Saudi source familiar with the details told Kan News that Saudi Arabia will not compromise on normalization with Israel, even if the latter assists it in the fight against the Houthis in Yemen. According to the source, from Saudi Arabia's perspective, the path to normalization goes through resolving the Palestinian issue—not through a third party and not from a position of weakness. Amid the damage the Saudis are suffering in the confrontation with the Houthis, the source said that in Riyadh they believe a comprehensive military operation against the rebels is not the ultimate solution at this time. Instead, the Saudis aim to promote an international solution to dismantle the threat in a smart and strategic manner. At most, the Saudis at this stage seek to regain control over areas captured by the Houthis near the strategic Bab el-Mandeb strait.
